WHAT WE BELIEVE

About Assembly of Faith Church

STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe that the Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired, and is a perfect treasure of heavenly instruction; that it has God for its author, salvation for its en, and truth without any mixture of error for its matter; that it reveals the principlesby which God will judge us; and therefore is, and shall remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds and opinions shall be tried.

We believe that in order to be saved, sinners must be regenreated, or born again; that regeneration consists in giving a holy dispositon to the mind; that it is effected in a manner above our comprehension by the power of the Holy Spirit, in a connection with divine truth, so as to secure our voluntary obedience to the gospel; and that its proper evidence appears in the holy fruits of repentance, and faith, and newness of life.

We believe that there is Only One True Living God, the creator of heaven and earth, eternally existent in three persons who is the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the deity of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, and in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return to power and glory.

We believe in the fall and consequent total moral depravity of humanity, resulting in our exceeding sinfulness and lost estate, and necessitating our regenration by the Holy Spirit.

We believe that salvation is a continuous process; therefore the Holy Spirit provides a continuing ministry of sanctification by whose infilling the believing Christian is cleansed and empowered for a life of holiness and service.

We believe in the resurrection where we will spend eternity with our Lord forever.

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. As such we shall, enter into covenant relation with one another and endeavor to please God in all of our ways to the glory of God.
